Removing toxins with Panchakarma, the Ayurvedic master therapy for health and well-being
Every day, our bodies are exposed to noise and stress, smog and exhaust fumes, pesticides, medicines and home toxins. They make the body tired, exhausted and ultimately ill. Ayurveda, the 5000-year old art of healing from India, describes health as the perfect balance of all physical and mental functions. If that balance is disturbed, we experience exhaustion, minor complaints and illness. What can be done? The Ayurvedic answer is: detoxification.
At Parkschlösschen, we practice the Panchakarma detoxification therapy. Accumulated wastes and impurities are removed from the body step by step under the direction of our experienced doctors. This internal “cleansing” restores the body’s balance. Dr. Dietrich Wachsmuth, Ayurveda medical doctor at Parkschlösschen, explains: "Regular detoxification is the prerequisite for promoting health, fortifying the immune system and revitalising the interplay of mind and body."
But what is Panchakarma? It is the Ayurvedic master therapy. The effectiveness of this treatment, which has been practiced for thousands of years, has been verified in scientific tests. The metabolic waste and toxins in the body are mobilised, removed and excreted in three stages. Since the vast majority of "civilisation toxins" are soluble in fat, Ayurveda uses different fats and oils. They include the venerable Ghee that is often used in French gourmet cuisine as butterfat. But our medical team also offers alternatives such as milk enriched with herbs.
The second harmonising stage of the therapy involves synchronous oil massages, cleansing herbal steam baths, warm oil baths and internal detoxification measures for removing and expelling the mobilised waste and toxic substances.
Nutrition also plays an essential role during the treatment. In Ayurveda, foods are considered to be healing agents, but not in the form of a "bitter medicine." Instead of bans and prescriptions, Parkschlösschen offers an exquisite low-fat cuisine, largely free of animal proteins -- varied, exciting and delicious.
The duration of the treatment depends on the needs of each individual patient, but should be at least ten days. The organism adapts to the restored balance of body and mind. This is not only experienced as enhanced well-being, but is also evident in brighter eyes, a smoother skin and shiny hair.
The treatments seem so natural that they almost appear familiar to us, like a treat we have long been yearning for.
